Under the AppleCare Enterprise Support Agreement, iOS Activation Lock can be cleared on any institutionally-owned iOS device. We recommend that you attempt to contact the Apple ID owner to whom the device is currently locked and ask that person to remove the device from the Apple ID by visiting Find My iPhone.
If the Apple ID owner cannot be determined or contacted, please complete the following form, and UNL ITS will request that the institutional device be unlocked.
Before Apple will release Activation Lock on an iOS device, the device must be reset to the factory setup screen and awaiting activation. If the device is not currently at the setup screen, use Apple Configurator 2 to restore it to factory state. If you need to verify the status of Activation Lock on a device please contact John Ross or Phil Redfern with the device serial number.
