Unable to open IRM message in Outlook 2011 when connected to O365.
Outlook for Mac 2011 currently does not support IRM in an Office 365 environment.
This scenario is described in KB 2696491 and includes a recommended workaround for the Outlook 2011 user to open the IRM protected email message using Outlook Web App in the web browser.
This was confirmed internally that this article applies to Outlook 2011 even with the latest point updates installed and for the current production version of Office 365. There is currently no indication of if/when this functionality would be available with the Mac Outlook client connected to Exchange Online.
