Accessibility is a broad area whose goal is to provide undiminished access to resources for all. Effective development of UX/UI is foundational to good accessibility; the CIC IT Accessibility Group is working toward a set of recommendations for accessibility. The accepted current accessibility benchmarks at UNL are to pass both the WAVE ( evaluation as well as the Functional Accessibility Evaluator (U of Illinois). In addition, there are a number of accessibility issues that are not testable or incompletely testable through machine evaluation. Application developers should make themselves aware of and capable of remediating accessibility issues, or pursue team development models that leverage existing expertise in UI/UX and accessibility.
NOTE: Protected/Private sites are not exempt, and may need to be manually assessed.

Best Practice:  Test and remediate all identified accessibility issues
