The goals of any given project are clearly spelled out in the project charter, and those goals are reflected as well in the setup and analysis of analytics that track how the end users navigate, interact with, and complete workflows on the application. The standard analytics tool at UNL is Google Analytics; GA code is built into the UNLedu Web Framework, but individual sites should set up their own Google Analytics accounts. See the documentation on the Web Developer Network website regarding configuration details. Goals analysis requires additional work which should be part of any development project; expertise in setting up Google Analytics and goals and 'funnels' is available.
Additional performance metrics may be part of each unique application and should be part of any Goals and Analytics plan.
Best Practice: Define a goal consistent with strategy; ensure ongoing analytics relevant to goal.
