About Client Management Tools at UNL
Following a thorough and collaborative RFP process in the summer of 2013, Jamf Pro was selected to manage the macOS and iOS platforms. Microsoft SCCM was selected to manage the Windows platform. Campus IT staff can submit the Access to Client Management Tools form to gain access to the tools. The Opt-In for UNL CMT form has been published for departments that would like to use this method to gather opt-ins from their faculty.
Departments that would like additional assistance with implementing the Client Management Tools in their area can schedule private sessions with the appropriate Administrator. What Are Client Management Tools?
Client Management Tools are University-wide systems that department IT staff utilize to quickly and efficiently perform tasks on the end user computers that they support. Client Management Tools enable department IT to view hardware and application inventories, install operating systems, deploy new applications, and distribute updates or patches for existing applications. The Client Management Tools used at UNL provide very granular control of which functions are enabled for a given computer, and which department IT staff have the ability to perform tasks on that computer through the Client Management Tools.
