Eduroam Windows 8 configuration instructions.
It is recommended that you use the automated configuration script available and only use the following manual instructions if the automated script does not work for your particular system.
How to manually setup Windows 8 for the “eduroam” SSID.
Move your mouse to the lower right corner of the screen until you see the the popup menu, then choose the “Setting” icon.
From the “Setting” menu select: “Control Panel”.
From the “Control Panel” menu select: “Network and Internet”
From the “Network and Internet” menu: select “Network and Sharing Center”
Select “Set up a new connection or network”.
Select “Manually connect to a wireless network”
Enter Information for network settings as shown below:
Network name: “eduroam”
Security type: pull down menu to “WPA2-Enterprise”
Select Encryption type: “AES”
Now, left click wireless icon on lower right hand corner of the desktop

Now highlight the “eduroam” SSID.
Now right click and choose “View connection properties” for the “eduroam” SSID.
Now, left click the “Settings” button
Now check the box “AddTrust External CA Root” and make sure (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is selected.
Now click the “Configure” box.
Now, make sure the “Automatically use Windows logon name” is unchecked. Then click “OK” and “OK” again.
Now click on the “Advanced settings” box.
Now specify authentication Mode for “User authentication” from the drop down box.
Now select the “Save credentials” box.
Enter your active directory user name and password and Click OK.
It is important the user name is fully domain qualified. ( i.e. email@example.com )
Now you can connect to the “eduroam” SSID.
