Telecommunications handles numerous phone services, including departmental service, dorm service, pagers and VoIP.
Before relocating your phone, please contact Information Technology Services at 402-472-3434 or telecom@nebraska.edu to update your location information. Accurate location information is essential for 911 emergency services.
To better ensure that emergency responders are able to quickly identify the location of an emergency, in the event you need to call 911, your first choice should be to call from a wired-line phone or cellular phone. If you do choose to call 911 from a soft-phone, you will need to stay on the line with 911 dispatch to confirm your exact location.

Listen to your voice message:
  1. Dial #86 or 27200
  2. Enter  password
  3. Listen to messages, press 1
  4. Voice messages, press 1
Options while listening to your voice message:

To pause, press 1

To forward, press 2

To back up/rewind five seconds, press 3

To delete, press 4

To save, press 5

To hear again, press 6

To skip to next message, press 7

To reply, press 8

To forward five seconds, press 9

To retrieve information about the message, press 0 0 (zero twice) - This gives time and Caller ID if available

To change your security code:
  1. Log on
  2. From the main menu, press 3
  3. For Personal Options,  press 1
  4. To change your security code, press 4
  5. When prompted, press the digits in sequence, followed by the # key.
  6. To confirm your new security code, enter it again, followed by the # key. 
To record your name:
  1. From the main menu, press 3
  2. For Personal Options,  press 1
  3. To record your name,  press 5
  4. To begin recording , press 2 and speak your first and last name
  5. To stop recording, press 2
  6. You can also do the following:
    1. Review your recorded name, press 6
    2. Delete your recorded name and start over, press 4
    3. Cancel and exit without saving or recording, press *
  7. To save the recording, press 5
To record your personal greeting:
  1. From the main menu, press 3
  2. For Personal Options,  press 1
  3. To record your personal greeting,  press 3
  4. To record your standard greeting,  press 2
  5. To begin recording , press 2  Say the greeting you want your caller to hear
  6. To stop recording, press 2
  7. You can also do the following:
    1. Review your greeting, press 6
    2. Delete your greeting and start over, press 4
    3. Cancel and exit without saving or recording, press *
  8. To save the recording, press 5
To record your Out-of-Office greeting:
  1. From the main menu, press 3
  2. For Personal Options,  press 1
  3. To record your personal greeting,  press 3
  4. To record your Out-of-Office greeting,  press 3
  5. 5To begin recording , press 2
  6. To stop recording, press 2
  7. You can also do the following:
    1. Review your recording, press 6
    2. Delete your recording, press 4
    3. Cancel and exit without saving or recording, press *
