Digital Sign Content and Box Migration Thursday, March 18, 2021 to Friday, December 31, 2021

For those at UNL still using Box for their digital sign content, you may be hearing about plans to migrate your personal and department data to OneDrive and Sharepoint. Those new platforms work great for general file storage and collaboration. But they will not work for digital sign content as they do not have a Direct Link feature like Box does.

Microsoft returns FindTime Tuesday, April 3, 2018

In March, Microsoft brought back the Outlook add-in and website FindTime, that uses a polling model to simplify group scheduling. FindTime was built to address the issue of connecting with multiple people who can’t see each other’s availability.

New NU-Connect offers automated connection to secure Wi-Fi Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Information Technology Services (ITS) implemented a new Wi-Fi access network named NU-Connect on the Kearney and Lincoln campuses Saturday. 

NU-Connect provides an automated configuration for attaching laptops and most mobile devices to the secure and encrypted eduroam network.

The addition of NU-Connect is part of an effort by ITS to standardize the wireless experience for campus end users across Kearney, Lincoln, and Omaha.  The use of the NU-Connect SSID will be optional for the remainder of the Spring 2018 semester.  

University switching to ilos video capture Wednesday, March 21, 2018

Starting May 20, 2018, ilos replaces TechSmith Relay as the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's lecture capture/video hosting service. 

Ilos will migrate all user accounts and their associated content to their server. That migration process will last a week, finishing on May 4, 2018. The migration will copy files to ilos, keeping all links to current content functioning through May 20, 2018. 

Users who create content in TechSmith Relay after May 4, 2018, are responsible for transferring that content to ilos.

Downloading Bb Grades and Assignments for Students Tuesday, March 13, 2018

Access to Blackboard will be ending on May 15th, 2018. It’s important that you’ve saved any materials that you may need access to in the future. As long as access to previous course sites is available, you may download submitted assignments and course files within Blackboard.

You may need the information for your career portfolio or graduate school.
We recommend you download your important files long before Blackboard disappears.

Please use the methods below to obtain these files before it's too late!

Outlook 2016 Calendar Bug Friday, March 16, 2018

Update: Microsoft released Outlook update 16.11 on Wednesday, March 14, resolving the calendar issue. Most devices managed by ITS received the update the same day. Users with a device not managed by its should run any available Microsoft updates.

If you currently have content stored in your Adobe Connect content area you may download it by following these instructions:

During the 2017-2018 academic year, Zoom will replace Adobe Connect. The two services will run side by side until May 31, 2018, when Adobe Connect will be retired.

Nebraska Today: New anti-phishing tool deploys Feb. 19 Wednesday, January 31, 2018

In its ever-expanding battle against spam, viruses and malware, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is adding a new line of defense on the email front.

Starting Feb. 19, Information Technology Services will integrate Proofpoint's Targeted Attack Protection to all university email. The extra security level is designed to prevent malicious attachments and fraudulent links from reaching campus inboxes.

Maverick Daily: New Features Coming to Proofpoint Monday, January 22, 2018

ITS will be making two primary improvements to the UNO email service - no action is required on your part. These changes will further calibrate the new Proofpoint anti-phishing and anti-spam service first implemented last March.

Access to Blackboard ends May 15th, 2018 Monday, December 18, 2017

Canvas is the default Learning Management System (LMS) at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Students: please review your student assignments (projects, papers) in Blackboard and download the material you want to save/have access to. Access to Blackboard will end on May 15, 2018. Instructions for downloading your student content is available via the Student Guide and here.

UNL Proofpoint Changes, August 5

 Proofpoint is the University’s email security service that helps protect faculty and staff from email threats by securing suspect inbound and outbound email. 

 Starting on Saturday, August 5, 2017, ITS is consolidating systems, and you will receive a new Proofpoint daily digest with the University of Nebraska logo. As we make this change, you may receive duplicate Proofpoint digests on Saturday morning during the transition.
