How do you know you're at UNL's login site?
Phishing and fraudulent sites designed to steal credentials and access are among the most visible and prevalent computer security threats facing both individuals and institutions.
- The address bar will highlight the login.unl.edu web address.
- Look for the Extended Validation Cert symbol. There is a padlock icon in the address bar of the browser. The clickable green bar assures this site and content is governed by The Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska.
- When the username is entered, the login site will display the photo avatar of the user, which they may provide through planetred.unl.edu. After viewing the display, the user can be assured they are indeed using a trusted site and may enter their password to access the site.
